While by no means Florida’s smallest county, DeSoto County is one of the smaller counties in the State. We are a county which is predominantly rural. Our population is smaller than that of many nearby cities. Our people tend to know one another.

A Southern rural, agricultural county can be expected to have traditional, Conservative values. And our people do. While the political status of the county leans Democrat, the principles of the population are Conservative.

The DeSoto County Republican Executive Committee is intent on reaching our neighbors and convincing them that their true home – the place where their values have taken root – is in the Republican Party. Our goal is to make what is logical come to fruition. DeSoto County is ratioanlly a Republican County and will soon be Republican in actuality, as well.

Furthermore, we will make DeSoto County a net contributor to Florida’s Republican future. Our votes will help future State Legislators, Congressmen, Senators, Governors and Presidents win elections and lead this State and our great Nation into a prosperous and free future.
